I wont lie, I have been counting down the moments until I got to write this blog. I was unsure whether or not it would be celebrating adding another stadium or celebrating that AND a victory! I have to say, Baltimore was a pleasure. The city seemed very cute. There was playful trash talk, before the game anyways. It was an over all good experience. Although Baltimore food, little sus. Got food poisoning (i think). It's a sacrafice im willing to make for a win. Just glad it didnt suck until after the game when I got back to my hotel room.
The morning of the game, I took Sadie girl for a walk and it made me happy to see so many Colts fans around in our hotel. BTW if you havent been to Baltimore, stay at the hilton. The view of the baseball and football stadium was incredible!! I literally just admired it all from the room. As the game got closer and we started getting ready, I figured out tailgating plans and we were off.
The fans, prior to losing, were seriously really cool. I low key expected them to be like Eagles fans. Getting to meet new people, in a new city, and tailgate with someone and their friends was a good time. I think its so great that after so many years on twitter I can meet up with a Colts fan in just about any city, anytime. Its actually insane to think about... how being a fan of a team can kind of give you this weird little family? Ya know?
Anyways, halfway ish through the game I went to go join someone and watch the game from around their seats. It was fun give or take a few moments of angry fans. Nothing worse than watching your team play and trying to limit yourself so someones friends wont absolutely hate you. Football can bring out the worst and best in people. I have to say, having a few rough years has really humbled me as a Colts fan. Do I like losing?Absofuckinglutely not. However, I am a way better sport now than I used to be. I also realized, a win is enough. I cheered my little heart out but im only one for playful fun trash talk not "your team sucks" like can you really tell me anything about my team that I dont know? Answer, you probably cant.
Things got a little nasty over a few penalty calls/missed calls. Stadium got a little wild. BTW anytime I thought it should have been a flag I was, in nicer terms that what said "wrong" and anytime a flag was missed against them.... lol they were right. I have to say thats my FAVORITE part about going to away games. I thrive in these environments. Like, Ive been a colts fan for over half of my life.. I love this shit. Even if people get a little mean in their trash talk, I love the passion. I admire them for that.
When silence swept the stadium at the end, I felt peace. All playful trash talk aside, I had a good time. I think I fist bumped about 50-100 Colts fan on my way out of the stadium, which was also a major highlight. Oh.... words of wisdom.... I think maybe when youre meeting someone friends for the first time, dont go to a sports game... It could potentially fuck it all up. I tried so hard to be a "calm" fan but its not who I am... buuuuuut, It is what it is. I like to think I still made a good first impression because I loved everyone I met this weekend.
oh... before I forget LETS GO COLTS!!!
