Okay so here’s a little throw back adventure. A few years ago, I went to Florida to visit my best friend Christina. She was going through a hard time and so I dropped everything and flew down there to be supportive. Doing this started what became our annual tradition.
Florida was a great time. It was different, as it had been a few years since I had seen her. She came to visit me in Kansas City, Missouri and stayed with an ex and I. We had a lot of fun when she visited but we were young and life just wasn’t together yet. This trip was different though. We had money, we had steady jobs, we had stability in our life. This was what felt like our first adult best friend trip.
Her parents are like a second set of parents for me, so getting to stay with them when I was down there made for a great 7 day adventure. We did family dinners, happy hour, movie nights, and shopping. This quality time was actually what made me decide that when I went back to KC, I wanted to be by my parents again in Washington state.
This is part of why I believe everything happens for a reason. One small life changing event can have a domino effect, whether its good or bad well you just never know. Seeing Christina that summer of 2019 changed everything for the both of us. We both made major life changing decisions and went forward and chased our dreams.
We can’t skip all the fun though, her brother took us to some trailer bar on a river. I wondered why anyone would go here, then again that’s my feeling of Florida in general so I guess I’m the wrong person to ask. The bar had karaoke and I felt like I could see a gator at any moment. It was definitely a good night.
The next day, we decided we would go to the beach. We got there and realized, we literally both hate having sand in our swim suits. So we did a quick photo shoot and left. We drove to a bar and had some drinks and our adventure changed. She still to this day tells people “no you have no idea how Jadium throws down drinks” all because of that day. That was really a start to some hilarious traditions for us. We always find a bar with tropical drinks on our annual trip. Kind of adorable in my opinion.
I could go on for days the hilarious moments on our first Annual best friend trip but I will leave it at that. My dear bestfriend, sister, numero uno, and EXTREMELY dramatic other half… I love you and appreciate you! So take a moment to think back on a memory with one of your best friends and smile. Year 2 and 3 trip coming soon. Year 4 trip is in being planned as we speak! Thats all for now.
