I wanted to kick off this blog by posting about my favorite vacation I have been on thus far. Hawaii. The big island changed my entire way of life. I am someone, as much as id hate to admit, who gets a little too stressed about life. Hawaii was just incredible. The island way of life is something I took with me. The aloha vibes. Feeling like time was literally just a number on the clock. "Its 5' O clock somewhere" but as a way of life. All of those little things made me take a step back and realize wow, life really is beautiful. So why stress the small stuff? Am I right?
Well the trip started by a mimosa 10,000+ feet in the air. Alex (my bf) and I went out to meet my parents. Within minutes we got settled and made our first venture off to find a happy hour restaurant, time change had my food schedule all over the place. We found an incredible restaurant that I will never forget, not only because the cocktails were game changers but the staff was AMAZING and the food... WOW. I guess this is the part where you ask "what was it called?" Well I should probably noting the places I go now that I've started a blog.
Anyways, my best friend and her husband flew in and we had our annual best friend trip. Every single day we started off by snorkeling. The underwater life was more than I could ever imagine, and this is coming from a hard core shark week gal who watches her fair share of under water documentaries. I know its cheesy but finding nemo was all I could think about. It literally feels like an entirely different world down there. So after a morning of killer calorie burning in the ocean, yes I did track on my apple watch, we found places to do brunch. Let me tell you, brunch in hawaii hits different. We have all seen food posts about hawaii though, so lets skip the food talk for now.
The island tour was EVERYTHING. We got to explore the black sand beach, watch dolphins and seaturtles, hiked the volcano, explored waterfalls, and we cant forget the coffee tour. Freshly ground hawaii coffee is just everything you could imagine and more. Never knew I could drink black coffee until I realized their coffee doesnt have the acidity we have over here on the "main land" which makes their coffee a million times better. Oh and we cant forget about the submarine tour and PARASAILING.
The 7 or 8 day vacation was epic to say the least. When I came back to the PNW, I was applying for jobs in hawaii for weeks. I wanted to move there so badly because I was just happy as can be out there living my best life on the island. As we know, all vacations must come to an end, and so do all blog posts. Thanks for reading. I hope you stay tuned for more of my lovely ranting.
